'Guardians' (The Outcasts)

'Guardians' is one of a series of large scale drawings as part of 'The Outcast' series.

The scene depicts a somewhat fable like narrative. Here we see two wolves, one male one female, guarding the tree of life surrounded by flirtatious and feisty humming birds. Central to the drawing we see a anatomical heart pumping life through all of nature as a metaphor of existence. At the base of the tree grows inky cap mushrooms which at different stages in their metamorphosis can be consumed, once however the inky droplets occur the ink itself can be used for drawing but the mushroom becomes poisonous.
